Penguin Plunge

The days between Christmas and New Year's Eve are a snoozer. If you're feeling a bit daring, our Aquatics Team are putting together... get this... a 7-challenge obstacle course RACE that's a mix of the show, "Double-Dare" and "American Ninja Warrior" with a twist of Halloween costume contest, AND a heaping dose of water at the Alvin Settles Pool on Saturday, December 28 from 10-2.

Honestly, I'm still trying to wrap my head around this one because it sounds like an Ashville, NC thing. As you'd expect, crossing our GIANT inflatable obstacle course is the final challenge. Bring a good towel, a change of clothes, and a few bucks to enjoy some hot chocolate with your family and friends afterward. Before I forget, cameras will be out there to immortalize your achievement on Facebook and everywhere else.

Best times are going to be awarded with medals for age and gender divisions sort of like you'd see at a 5k. I'm thinking that being comfortable with water may be a good idea too. Worst-case scenario, you'll have a great excuse to skip the morning drive to the beaches at Hilton Head or Hunting Island on New Years Day.
